Hi everyone! Here is our first pick from the “We Love Your Cover” contest! Lori Matthaidess chose our Name in Lights Life Planner, and we customized it to match the colors in her photo. Didn’t it turn out great? Here’s what she chimed in:

“This year when I saw on your website that you could add a photo, and I knew exactly which one to add.  We are avid Iowa Hawkeye fans and every year have season tickets.  The kids love to go with us to a few games.  It was so much fun to create the cover of my new planner with our family picture and coordinate the colors with it.  As any busy mom knows, your planner is your lifeline.  If it isn’t in there, it doesn’t get done!” - Lori

Thanks & Congrats Lori!

1-Stop Wrapping Spot!

I was in Costco the other day bargain hunting, and I found this! It’s a ‘Portable Wrap & Craft Center’ from Snapware (the makers of the snap&seal tupperware). It’s a storage solution for your gift wrapping supplies, with space for up to 36 rolls of wrap, a ribbon dispenser, built in ruler.. etc. The best part is that it’s got table legs that fold out, so the container becomes a tabletop! You can wrangle your gift wrapping chaos into just one area! Sounds mighty good to me. Looks perfect for the upcoming season. :)

Hello again!

Hi everyone! So sorry we’ve been MIA for a bit, Holiday Madness is here!!!! We’re all trying to accomplish long to-do lists but I promise to give this blog a little more love. :) I hope everyone’s summer was great, it went by so fast!

So for our first blog of the fall, I’d like to introduce you to a friend of ours: Connor Barry! Or, should we say- Mr. Representative? :D .. Connor recently ran for the position of Class Representative for his fifth grade class. His slogan was, “Vote for Connor Barry or it’s gonna get scary!” We made some campaign stickers (customized from our Boo! Halloween gift labels) and some 8×10 Campaign signs for his siblings to display. Needless to say, Connor won the election! Congrats from all of us, Connor!

09/2010 Planners + Calendars!

Before you know it, summer will be over and the sunny days will fly by into Fall. I prefer to use this time of year to plan, organize and prepare for the crazy months ahead when the time between Halloween and the Holidays is a total blur.

Last week we announced our latest (and greatest!) personalized life planner that is a must for busy people on the go. My planner (with laminated cover!) packs perfectly in my purse & goes with me everywhere!

With sooo many new features and options to create the perfect, personalized organizer… those that have already received their orders are RAVING!

OMG! i thought last yearís edition was awesome, I am totally blown away by all the improvements and upgrades this year! ….loving every single page!” - danielle newport beach, california

This week, I am proud to announce it’s “BIG sister!”

The 09/2010 Jumbo Month-at-a-Glance calendar is here!

Measuring more than 17” tall and 11” wide, this calendar is personalized with your name/company on each month, a choice of two personalized cover pages, hundreds of colorful stickers to highlight  special dates and events, and since you have asked, can now be ordered with our without the plexiglass back.

While my planner goes everywhere I go, the jumbo calendar never leaves my house.  My husband and kids know… “if it’s not on the calendar, it’s not going to happen!”  We all live such busy lives between work, school & play time…

This JUMBO calendar keeps my hectic family schedules flowing and my team at work on track.

At only $40, it also makes the perfect gift!  contact us for bulk discounts if you purchase 5 or more at a time.

“dom” voyage!

I guess I could blame it all on “Matt.” After seeing the awesome YouTube clip called “Where the Hell is Matt?”, we all have a bit of the wanderlust around here. Although I feel so blessed to be happily married with two kids, I can’t help but remember the days when I was single and carefree and could be spontaneous and leave town at the drop of a hat. So, we are all living vicariously through Dominque (”dom”, my very first employee!), as she takes the summer off to spread her wings and travel the world. We had a “dom voyage” lunch on her last day, and I finally found the excuse I needed to buy the “everything bag” AS SEEN ON TV. The commercial/video is hilarious…the tiny bag can be packed full with everything AND possibly the kitchen sink. Perfect for the carefree traveler that she is, leaving the country for 3 months with nothing more than a backpack, and now a buxton bag!

prepare to get SOAKED!

custom invitation

A “super soaker” party can be the best way to celebrate a summer birthday! I’m not a big fan of “toy guns” in the house, but somehow calling it a “blaster” makes it okay with me. My son and his pals, with some help from the dads, divided into teams and had an all out BATTLE (and total blast!) in the front yard.  The dads helped with the hose at the refilling station, and the ski goggles were an added accessory and eye protector. While the blasters themselves can be quite expensive, I found them on sale at Etoys.com. Each pal got to take it home as a party favor, so really that was the main expense of the party.  I printed waterproof stickers to personalize the soakers, and found inexpensive Hanes tank tops (4 in a bag) at Target for the team uniforms. Hot dogs on the front steps and a “cupcake cake” made at our Vons Bakery finished off the perfect day of celebrating seven with a splash!

Yum-O!

How incredibly adorable are these cupcakes?! Such a fantastic idea, too- I kind of want to leave the office right now and try making these myself! If you head on over to Bakerella (thanks to Brandy for the link!) there is a complete tutorial on how to create these gems for you and your family! Hint Hint: Dad would love them this Sunday!

game on!

We are deep into playoffs, and you’d think this was the major league!  I’ve heard stories of uptight coaches and tension among the teams, but never thought it would start at the age of 7! I must admit, i have been sucked into the drama.  I thought growing up as a coach’s daughter that I could handle the thrill of competition, but I have been a nervous wreck since playoffs started.  I know, I know, it’s really silly, but we are managing to have a lot of fun too!  We have sisters on sticker patrol, and even a team dog mascot. We’ve got a big weekend ahead, and I hope to report back with a victory!
