Bathroom is finished!

As usual, we were down to the wire with our last minute home improvements before the wedding!
I put on the final coat of paint to my green vanity/sink and my husband hung the fab mirror from Restoration Hardware just minutes before the guest arrived. It was tough to take a photo of the entire space, so this is the best I could do.

I am madly in love with the new wallpaper!!! Can hardly wait to offer all the new designs on my site….you will be able
to choose ANY color combo, the sky’s the limit!

It’s a family affair: Go Hooks!
it’s hard to believe the end of our baseball season is near, 2nd play off game tonight! We have such an incredible group of families and boys playing together again and I am so blessed to have my amazing family so involved too.

My best friend lives across the street and her husband is the head coach. Yes, that’s me wearing all the photo buttons of my son…such a goofball, i know :)

My dad (he’s 71 years old) is the most amazing assistant coach. He coached College Baseball and Softball for over 30 years and is an incredible instructor for these young boys.

My brother is another assistant coach that is truly the “personality” in the dugout! He is leading every cheer and “two out rally” at every game. His energy is endless and infectious! He also spoils them with Big League Chew (gum.)

My brother’s wife, Carol Reach, the amazing photographer lends her talents on the field as well. I plan to create a slideshow for our year end “banquet/pool party” at our home next week.

My mom and I head up the cheer section, of course with personalized stickers to show team spirit :)

On Mother’s Day we played “Moms vs. Boys” and the moms came out the Champs!
(well, perhaps they let us win, but that’s the way it should be on Mother’s Day) :)

The Inspired Mom!

A friend of mine came to pick my brain a couple years ago about an idea she had…
We chatted over coffee, I gave my honest opinion and shared some “dos & don’ts” about starting an on-line business. She is sooo busy as a mother of 3 young boys, but somehow makes time to be a spin instructor, community leader, business owner and Inspired Mom. She started writing inspirational stories on her blog while she worked behind the scenes on her fabulous business is in the making. After 2 years in development, I am soooo proud of the highly anticipated launch of MyOwnLittleStory.com

What is My Own Little Story?
A completely unique approach to recording your child’s most precious moments. Their exclusive “Milestone Memory System” is a completely free service that reminds you, via email, to record milestones and narratives in your child’s life. (you pay for the finished book that you create over the years)

I only wish the service was offered when my babies were born! It is it is a brilliant idea and something I just had to share
with all of you. Spread the word, suscribe for FREE.

Oh What a Colorful Beach!

So fun to see that the artist panels have been installed on our lifeguard station!
My kids were thrilled to see this art project come to life, especially knowing they played a part.

Gotta love our colorful California beaches…I am soooo ready for summer!

Celebrating Susie!

Just 2 days until the big wedding! well, the lovebirds actually eloped but we will be hosting the reception at our home on Saturday.
Last month, we convinced Susie to steal away for a “girls weekend,” wine tasting in Santa Barbara and Los Olivos.
(she refused to call it a bachelorette party since we are in our 40s and it is her second marriage)

She also made it VERY CLEAR that she would not wear a veil, or any silly/sassy bachelorette stuff, but I couldn’t help myself. I found Tatoo Paper at Michaels and printed “kenny” hearts for all of us to wear and a muscle bound sailor tat with her hubby’s face photoshopped on! They were a huge hit with the gals, not sure I can say that about the winery owners. Not the “classiest crew” coming through for winetasting, but we sure had a blast.

by the way, i would recommend small tatoos on this peel and stick paper…the larger images did not apply smoothly and the edgesrolled up and peeled off. bummer, but the idea was fun :)

Colorful Cali Beaches!

it’s been a couple weeks since we helped to paint the lifeguard station near our home. It was an incredible day, with VERY little turnout which worked in our favor! all the kids got to paint, and some adults too. The panels will be installed soon, all of which were painted by terminally ill children and the organization, Portraits of Hope. Can’t wait to see the finished masterpieces lining our beaches from Malibu to Palos Verdes.

We are already planning the “paint party” when it goes “back to blue” in October. We will be ready!

Married in Fiji, Party at my house!

My best friend (since I was born!) just eloped to Fiji! We were sad to not attend the barefoot on the beach ceremony, but now excited to host a rippin’ reception at our home this weekend! We have been in home improvement modefor weeks, and everything is finally coming together at the last minute.
As mentioned in a previous post, we are remodeling a bathroom that will literally be done the day before the big fun. We are printing the wallpaper in my shop today and a pro will be hanging it tomorrow!

After the paper is hung, my handy man is coming back to install the fixtures, including my fun sink/vanity that I designed from scratch. I need to add a third coat of paint tonight, these “ball” legs are not easy to cover but I think the end result will be worth all the labor.

I will post photos after the big party, but have a sneak peek of an Outdoor Canvas we are printing for the newlyweds!

We are printing it now and will coat it with a UV Protectant so it can hang outside for years to come. A great way to personalize a pool area or balcony, i think the couple will be surprised and thrilled to take home this party favor.

the clock is ticking…still so much to do!

No arms, No legs, NO WORRIES.

what an incredible message from such an inspirational man.
I hope you all start your weekend and count your blessings after seeing this.

we all get so caught up in our own imperfections and expections, this is such a powerful message that we all have so much to be thankful for.

Notes and Words!

I was so honored to be approached by Kelly Corrigan and the coordinators of the first annual, Notes & Words event! An amazing night of incredible musicians and authors coming together to raise money for the Children’s Hospital of Oakland.

Watch this wonderful video from the event!

http://www.notesandwords.org/

Each attendee received a fabulous “swag bag” complete with a signed copy of LIFT, by Kelly Corrigan. We created the custom book plates for the event and the night was a huge success!
