cute as a cupcake!

we just love seeing the creativity flow when our customers throw parties of their own! check out the lastest from special customer, Drew, when she celebrated with her birthday with her pals & pizza in the park.  (say that 10 times fast)  We created the invitation with all the fun details she had planned, then her mom had the cupcakes decorated to match! too cute!

trapeze!

What circus themed blog would be complete without a post about trapeze? Ladies and gentleman, girls and boys, direct your gaze to the center ring.

A friend of a friend, Chanel Durelli, is an ariel artist. She teaches and performs trapeze professionally in the Los Angeles area. Always up for a little adventure we decided to attend a class and now we’re hooked, literally, by our knees, legs, anything! Hold on for dear life and try to look graceful while doing it. It’s quite a challenge, an exhilarating experience and an exceptional workout.

For those who prefer to leave it to the seasoned pros don’t miss your traveling or local circus troop. Many can be hired for events. What better way to liven up a party than to have people swinging from the rafters?

celebrating our “first lady!”

die cut faces of each first lady and details of their influence on our nation

die cut faces of each first lady and details of their influence on our nation

My grandmother just turned 90 and we wanted to celebrate her in a very special way! I was inspired by a favorite find from years ago, a die cut “fandex” illustrating the first ladies of our nation.  It made me think how my grandma is OUR first lady, and although she is not famous, she is every bit as fabulous.  So, as her biggest “fans” (pardon the pun, had to say it…), we decided to create “face fans” from favorite photos of her past and present.  We scanned old photos as large as possible so the printed files could be “life size”, then cut out each face and taped them to large tongue depressers (popsicle sticks would be fine too.)  She was so surprised and delighted and the kiddos had a blast with the idea! I made a few sets of the fans so people could take them home as party favors….now, what will we do for her 100th birthday?? Hoping Willard Scott will be able to attend! ha!

40 and fabulous!

yes, this is the year we all turn 40! thankfully, i am the last of my crew, so I can brag about being 39 until the very end of 2009 :)  I just love that our 40th year is bringing me together with all my grade/high school and  college friends, and I mostly love digging thru photos for the “roast.”  I found a great wig shot of my friend, Lonna, and we created a comic canvas to hang on the front door at her party.  It was a huge hit and set the tone for a fabulous time with old friends. (oops! did I just say “OLD?”)  Everyone brought classic photos and silly stories, and we stayed up all night laughing and facebooking old neighbors & boyfriends…thankfully, no frozen bras at this sleepover :)

put the FUN into FUNdraising!

It’s that time of year again, when we all need to rally to support our local schools. With further budget cuts during these difficult economic times, our schools need our help more than ever! Pink slips have been handed out to teachers and important programs are on the chopping blocks – WE ALL MUST DO WHAT WE CAN TO KEEP OUR SCHOOLS STRONG! We attended our school fundraiser this past weekend and I was blown away by all the hard work and dedication it takes to execute such an event. It took dozens of volunteers and countless hours to coordinate, but the night was a huge success! Even smaller, spontaneous events can bring in the resources and raise awareness to our challenges…see the photos from our event we held at our home last year. Fun stickers and wax lips helped to put the FUN back into fundraising! Contact us to help with your next fundraising event…we are here to help!

Aaaaaaahhhhh! the spa!

Starting with a fun birthday party invitation, we created a spa-like feel with cucumbers and catchy text to set the tone for a fabulous day celebrating 7 at the spa!

we can customize any invitation to create a theme!

This year we created our own DAY SPA and celebrated my daughter’s seventh birthday at home. The girls had a blast doing their own mud masks, and I had friends and other moms help with the mani-pedis. Each girl got a a monogrammed spa robe and themed water bottle as a party favor. The square bottles from Fiji Water are ideal for our waterproof party labels! Of course, Kate had matching thank you notes to send all her pals with photos of the memorable day!

ice, ice, baby!

The kids just love helping out in the kitchen, especially when they get to stir up their favorite drinks! Check out the star ice cube trays we got at IKEA.  Look out Kool Aid man, you’ll soon be seeing stars!
