no trick, bring on the treats!

I love to brag about my nieces…they are absolutely hilarious, brilliant, imaginative, precious & darling - TIMES TWO. I can say all these things since they aren’t “really” mine. (Yes, twins are everywhere in our family!) Since we live a bit more than an hour away, I like to send happy packages or style them with fun treats to let them know that “auntie” is thinking of them always.  (they call me “color wonder auntie” since I am always changing my hair color. ha!)  They are excited to deliver treats to their school friends this year with spooky stickers that are (of course) personalized.  I’ll be using the “boo” labels on the bubbly I’ll be bringing to the block party this year!

have a happy, spooky, treat-filled night on the 31st! ~erin

Yum-O!

How incredibly adorable are these cupcakes?! Such a fantastic idea, too- I kind of want to leave the office right now and try making these myself! If you head on over to Bakerella (thanks to Brandy for the link!) there is a complete tutorial on how to create these gems for you and your family! Hint Hint: Dad would love them this Sunday!

cute as a cupcake!

we just love seeing the creativity flow when our customers throw parties of their own! check out the lastest from special customer, Drew, when she celebrated with her birthday with her pals & pizza in the park.  (say that 10 times fast)  We created the invitation with all the fun details she had planned, then her mom had the cupcakes decorated to match! too cute!

"buttons" invitation designed especially for Drew!

no more tears!

My daughter loves to help me make dinner, and recently wanted to help chop the onions for the burgers.  She is nearly 8 years old, and as much as I can’t stand to watch, she does use a big, sharp chopping knife.  (i just can’t imagine how I will feel when she can drive a car!)  I told her I would cut the onion, but she is an insistent little thing, and so I let her chop away.  I guess some lessons need to be learned the hard way!  Her eyes were stinging and the tears were flowing and she said, “we should wear goggles when chopping onions!”  With a quick google search, voila! we found found onion goggles and now have no more tears in the kitchen.

lunch notes

i still remember the warm fuzzy feeling i would get when I opened my lunch box to find a sweet message from my mom, handwritten on a napkin.  Now that I am a mom, I send along the same sweet nothings, but my favorite part is the note that comes back!  This very green lunch box was designed by a good friend of mine, and mother of two. Although the first round of production needed some fine tuning, it is a great idea - good for our environment - and I just love the the dry erase memo section for lunch notes. I just crack up at the comments from my kids…”mom, no more nutz pleez”, or “can i pleez by lunch?”  Since the message is gone with each new lunch that I pack, I decided to photograph some of my favorite messages to memorialize forever.

ice, ice, baby!

The kids just love helping out in the kitchen, especially when they get to stir up their favorite drinks! Check out the star ice cube trays we got at IKEA.  Look out Kool Aid man, you’ll soon be seeing stars!
