Celebrating Susie!

Just 2 days until the big wedding! well, the lovebirds actually eloped but we will be hosting the reception at our home on Saturday.
Last month, we convinced Susie to steal away for a “girls weekend,” wine tasting in Santa Barbara and Los Olivos.
(she refused to call it a bachelorette party since we are in our 40s and it is her second marriage)

She also made it VERY CLEAR that she would not wear a veil, or any silly/sassy bachelorette stuff, but I couldn’t help myself. I found Tatoo Paper at Michaels and printed “kenny” hearts for all of us to wear and a muscle bound sailor tat with her hubby’s face photoshopped on! They were a huge hit with the gals, not sure I can say that about the winery owners. Not the “classiest crew” coming through for winetasting, but we sure had a blast.

by the way, i would recommend small tatoos on this peel and stick paper…the larger images did not apply smoothly and the edgesrolled up and peeled off. bummer, but the idea was fun :)

Personalized fun!

I couldn’t help but fall completely in love with the new personalized bags and pillows offered at Jonathan Adler! I’m particularly smitten with this khaki/ pink combo cross pillow.

This tote bag is just too much!

I love all things personalized, and these would look great covering my house from top to bottom design your own pillows and more!

great to be KING!

We were so honored to work with the LA KINGS to come up with a special way to show appreciation to the women & wives in their organization. We created a pack of personalized Gift Labels for each gal, but then decided it would be best to LET THEM CHOOSE from the collection.  Our new “too legit to quit” GIFT CARDS are the perfect gift for anyone this season.  Choose our “enjoy” card or let us create something custom for your organization.  The $50+ cards come in a fabulous collapsible gift box.

My team and I went to the LA KINGS game that week and had an absolute blast…I had never been before and I am seriously hooked! The music, the hype, the action on the ice…my kids loved every minute too.  We proudly displayed our entire Breast Cancer Awareness collection and donated sales that night to HOCKEY FIGHTS CANCER.

.. give me something good to eat!

Boo! In the spirit of All Hallows Eve tomorrow night,  I brought some goodies into the office for the gals! Chocolates, Sweettarts, Plastic Fangs and Gummy Fangs filled some candy bags I bought from Target. To top it off I made some Mini Folded Greetings (customized from our Boo! greetings) and stapled them shut. I made these a few days ago and have been bouncing up and down waiting to be able to pass them out! Hope your Halloween is just as sweet!

Hello again!

Hi everyone! So sorry we’ve been MIA for a bit, Holiday Madness is here!!!! We’re all trying to accomplish long to-do lists but I promise to give this blog a little more love. :) I hope everyone’s summer was great, it went by so fast!

So for our first blog of the fall, I’d like to introduce you to a friend of ours: Connor Barry! Or, should we say- Mr. Representative? :D .. Connor recently ran for the position of Class Representative for his fifth grade class. His slogan was, “Vote for Connor Barry or it’s gonna get scary!” We made some campaign stickers (customized from our Boo! Halloween gift labels) and some 8×10 Campaign signs for his siblings to display. Needless to say, Connor won the election! Congrats from all of us, Connor!

“dom” voyage!

I guess I could blame it all on “Matt.” After seeing the awesome YouTube clip called “Where the Hell is Matt?”, we all have a bit of the wanderlust around here. Although I feel so blessed to be happily married with two kids, I can’t help but remember the days when I was single and carefree and could be spontaneous and leave town at the drop of a hat. So, we are all living vicariously through Dominque (“dom”, my very first employee!), as she takes the summer off to spread her wings and travel the world. We had a “dom voyage” lunch on her last day, and I finally found the excuse I needed to buy the “everything bag” AS SEEN ON TV. The commercial/video is hilarious…the tiny bag can be packed full with everything AND possibly the kitchen sink. Perfect for the carefree traveler that she is, leaving the country for 3 months with nothing more than a backpack, and now a buxton bag!

prepare to get SOAKED!

custom invitation

A “super soaker” party can be the best way to celebrate a summer birthday! I’m not a big fan of “toy guns” in the house, but somehow calling it a “blaster” makes it okay with me. My son and his pals, with some help from the dads, divided into teams and had an all out BATTLE (and total blast!) in the front yard.  The dads helped with the hose at the refilling station, and the ski goggles were an added accessory and eye protector. While the blasters themselves can be quite expensive, I found them on sale at Etoys.com. Each pal got to take it home as a party favor, so really that was the main expense of the party.  I printed waterproof stickers to personalize the soakers, and found inexpensive Hanes tank tops (4 in a bag) at Target for the team uniforms. Hot dogs on the front steps and a “cupcake cake” made at our Vons Bakery finished off the perfect day of celebrating seven with a splash!

game on!

We are deep into playoffs, and you’d think this was the major league!  I’ve heard stories of uptight coaches and tension among the teams, but never thought it would start at the age of 7! I must admit, i have been sucked into the drama.  I thought growing up as a coach’s daughter that I could handle the thrill of competition, but I have been a nervous wreck since playoffs started.  I know, I know, it’s really silly, but we are managing to have a lot of fun too!  We have sisters on sticker patrol, and even a team dog mascot. We’ve got a big weekend ahead, and I hope to report back with a victory!

funding the cure!

By now most of you know of our fantastic Breast Cancer Awareness products, and our dedication to funding the hopeful cure!

*If you’re new to the EC.com family, we happily donate 50% of your Breast Cancer Awareness purchase back to various foundations. We’ve also recently added a new feature that allows us to donate directly to YOUR fundraising efforts if you have registered in a Run/Walk, simply by providing us with the link to your personal donation page!

Our newest editions to the collection were inspired by a brave friend, going through another round of chemotherapy… Lynda Webster, 2 time cancer fighter!, wanted to emphasize the following words: Cancer, Chemo, Courageous, & Cured.. The results were great, and I feel so proud to have made her day a little brighter!

CELEBRATE! :)

40 and fabulous!

yes, this is the year we all turn 40! thankfully, i am the last of my crew, so I can brag about being 39 until the very end of 2009 :)  I just love that our 40th year is bringing me together with all my grade/high school and  college friends, and I mostly love digging thru photos for the “roast.”  I found a great wig shot of my friend, Lonna, and we created a comic canvas to hang on the front door at her party.  It was a huge hit and set the tone for a fabulous time with old friends. (oops! did I just say “OLD?”)  Everyone brought classic photos and silly stories, and we stayed up all night laughing and facebooking old neighbors & boyfriends…thankfully, no frozen bras at this sleepover :)
